BUILT ON CLEAR EXPECTATIONS

A useful tool.
A contractor’s judgment.

BidBuilt helps you review and quantify plans. You stay in charge of what goes into the estimate.

Plan text and OCR help surface information; they do not guarantee that every construction detail has been read. Confirm the sheet scale, dimensions, openings, and specifications against the drawings.

This first workspace calculates wall framing. Add plan-specified floor and roof members, beams, posts, and connectors as source-linked materials. The app does not design or size structural members. Additional trades come after the framing workflow is established.

Your plans stay local by default. PDFs are read in your browser. Pro calculations and exports send your takeoff inputs, including dimensions and rates, to BidBuilt. Optional AI review sends selected plan content when you choose it. Save project backups to keep a copy of your work.

BEFORE YOU GET STARTED

A few good questions.

Will BidBuilt automatically read an entire set of plans?

It opens multi-sheet PDFs and can extract drawing text or run OCR on scanned sheets. That helps you locate dimensions and notes, but a complete takeoff still needs your measurements and review. No automated reading can guarantee that every detail or specification is captured.

What can I include in a framing takeoff?

Measure or enter wall runs, specify heights and stud spacing, add window and door openings, and calculate studs, plates, and optional wall sheathing. Review opening framing allowances against the actual details. Add floor and roof members, beams, posts, and connectors as separate materials from the approved plans. Structural sizing is not calculated by the app.

Can I use my own prices?

Yes. Enter the material unit prices, labor hours and rate, overhead, and markup for your job. BidBuilt does not assume live supplier prices. Review pricing and quantities before creating a proposal.

Do I need an account? Where is my project saved?

You can explore the demo, read your plans, and preview one wall without an account. An account and an active $49.99 USD monthly Pro subscription unlock full takeoffs, estimates, proposals, and CSV exports. Project information is saved in this browser; clearing site data can remove it. Export a project backup regularly. The original PDF is cached on this device when browser storage is available. Attach it again after restoring a backup or switching devices.

How does the Pro subscription work?

BidBuilt Pro is $49.99 USD per month, billed as a recurring subscription through Stripe. Create an account, verify your email, and complete checkout to activate Pro. Manage payment details or cancel future renewals from Account & billing. If you cancel, access continues through your paid period. Your local projects and backups remain yours.

Can I estimate other trades?

The current workflow is built for wall framing. We are establishing that workflow first before expanding to additional trades. Other trade quantities should be prepared and reviewed separately.

Add openings and confirm framing allowances.

COMPLETE THE FRAMING SCOPE

Additional material

Enter the material and quantity specified on your plans. This records a takeoff item; it does not size or engineer the assembly.

MEASURE FROM SOMETHING KNOWN

Enter the real distance between the two points you selected on this sheet.

Use a labeled dimension on the drawing. Calibrate each sheet separately, and recheck after changing the plan file.
